TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Residents of the Topeka Correctional Facility (TCF) took a light-hearted approach to a serious issue that’s impacted many of the women incarcerated there.
Domestic violence is an issue close to home for many of the women at TCF.
“I didn’t know what to call, I didn’t know where to go, and the easiest thing for me to do was to turn the drugs in which led me down a completely wrong and awful path,” says Amie Ryburn, who is incarcerated.
Ryburn’s own lack of resources is what inspired her to take positive action.
